I promise I'm still here and didn't die ... I'm on my lunch break from work right now ...
Basileia (in the Adorondack mountains) was amazing ... more to come possibly ... hehe

My first day of my new job was Thursday ... it's been great

Had a great talk last night ... I love God

The summer small group that I'm leading starts Thursday .... I'm excited/scared/nervous/excited ....

Back to work ... I'll try to update later ...

Wow, I haven't updated in a while huh ... This week was finals week but I only had one final so I didn't feel too much stress.  It was nice too because even though I only had one final my week was really full.  I got to talk to a lot of people and meet with a lot of people, so that was good.

Monday I was diagnosed with bronchitis and a bacterial infection ... haha, another reason why it's a good thing there wasn't too much stress goin on with finals this week. I've never had bronchitis before, it's really annoying.  haha, I've had it for 4 weeks now (today in fact, it's been 4 weeks).  I'm on antibiotics to help with the bacterial infection, but medicine can't help the bronchitis, that kinda has to go away on it's own.  I've been feeling a little bit better since I started the medicine though.   And the dr gave me some awesome cough medicine with codine to help me sleep at night ...

Drew's family came up last weekend.  It was really good to finally meet them.  I wish there would have been more time to chat with them and stuff, but a weekend isn't very much time to visit with someone ... and they were here for Drew, not for me (hehe ) so ... but I got to go to church with them on Sunday, so that was nice.  I think his sister is already planning a trip back up this summer ... hopefully it'll work out

So I would really love to go home this weekend (especially since it's a long weekend) but it's not lookin like I'm gonna be able to ...   I'm going to Baseliea (Bas) instead.  I'll be up in the beautiful adorandack mountains for 5 days!!   I'm excited about it.  It's something I look forward to at the end of the year.  It's an awesome retreat where we get to learn a ton and spend time in the middle of no where ... it's so beautiful there.  And there's a ropes course ... maybe I'll do it this year   So tomorrow I'm going to Julie's graduation party (which is really sucky because I don't want her to leave ... at least I get to spend the summer with her though ) and then as soon as it's over Nate, Josh, Chris and I will be driving up to Bas together.  I'm ridiculously excited!  The car ride should be really fun, and the time there should be really exciting and I should learn a lot and play frisbee golf.  I'm excited for frisbee golf.  Honestly I think I'm excited to just be away and not around school work/school and yeah .... hehe

I sure do miss my family ... June 14th

Today I'm going out with my roomies!!!   it'll be the last time we'll all be able to go out together just the 4 of us ... and the last time we'll be able to go out with Cari until her wedding in July.  *sigh* Change stinks sometimes ... this is the sad kind of change ... happy for Cari, sad for me and my roomies ... oh well.  She gets to be married soon ... I'd wanna get outta here too

Anyway, I"m working, I should go ... work ...   I start training for my new job tomorrow! I'm excited for it!   Anyway ... I'm out ... talk to you all soon

Well, I just had the most amazing weekend ever last weekend ...   I'll explain more details and put up pictures later ...

So it is official.  I am staying in Rochester for the summer.  My housing contract is signed and I was just hired into a full time job yesterday!!    Praise be to God ... I'm not kidding.  Let me explain ...

I really felt like God wanted me to stay here for the summer.  That meant I had to not do somethings I was planning on doing at home (like get to live with mom and dad and see Tyler and Jason and Karina, etc ...) and a few other things.  So I had to say no to that, and yes to staying in Rochester.  The thing about staying here in my apartment is that it costs a lot of money ... so I figured I'd just take out a loan to pay for housing, but then I'd need to find a job to pay it off asap.  So really I'd be working here in Rochester, just so I could live in Rochester ... I wouldn't really be able to save much money that way, which is something I need to do ...  well then God opened up a door!!!  With the help of a little bit of networking (it's good to know the right people ... ) I got an interview with RIT Housing Operations to see about working for Housing full time on campus this summer.  It just so happened that the person interviewing me is someone I already knew from my current job and have a good rapport with.  So she interviewed me and really it was her telling me what the job was about and what I'd be doing.  So then she said "Well, I guess the last thing is the hours.  I don't know if it'll fit with your schedule or not, but it's Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm.  Would that be ok?"  And of course I'm like uh, YEAH! Perfect!! haha, exactly what I was looking for! haha.  So she said "oh that's great, let's get some paperwork for you to fill out so you can start working during finals week!  Wow Christina you just made this so much easier for me, I was just thinking about how I was going to have to start advertising for an employee for the summer, and I really didn't have the time to do all kinds of interviews, so you just made this process a whole lot easier!"  And I was like, "well .... thanks!" haha, what do you say to that?  She just made it a lot easier for me too!!  haha, so NOW I have this full time job for the summer!!! HOW EXCITING!   But something even more exciting ... I asked her if since I was working for Housing Operations, if it would effect MY housing for the summer in any way.  She said "well, where do you live?" and I said "University Commons".  She said "oh, ok ... well the only way it'd really effect your housing is that you get to live there for free."  WHAT?! FOR FREE?!  Um, that's 1200 flipping dollars for the WHOLE summer ... and I don't pay a DIME because I'm working for Housing ... GEEZE! If God didn't set that up for me, I don't know what the heck is going on ... honestly, I don't know why God blesses me SO MUCH ... but clearly He really DID want me here for the summer ... those doors flew right open!   I'm ridiculously excited ... and I want God to have ALL the glory for me getting to live in my apt for free this summer ... and having a full time job ... and being able to pay for food and laundry stuff and toilet paper ... and for everything.  Honestly.  He definitely gives, and He can definitely take away.  He just proved it.

So, I just wanted to share that with everyone ... I wish I could be home, I really would love to be, but I feel such an awesome peace about staying in Rochester this summer.  It's weird.  I'm not going home.  That means I probably won't be going home again ... like, Rochester is becoming my new home ... bah, weird!  Seriously ... it's kind of sad but it's kind of really exciting too.  I'm flippin almost 23 years old, I should be starting some kind of new something by now, right?? hehe   I will be going home for about 5 days in June though.  14th - 18th I'll be coming home.  I'm really excited to!! I get to see Katie, since she'll be up in Ohio then, and I'll be able to get some summer clothes (since I have none here ...) and my bike so I can ride my bike to work instead of drive.   I'm really excited about going home.  I can't wait to see everyone!

This summer's gonna be awesome ... I'm really looking forward to it.

Anyway, enough about me ... how are YOU doing?!
